The "Giving" Experience

November is traditionally known as the month to give thanks. We give thanks to the veterans who served our country, recognition of our many blessings over a thanksgiving meal, and thanks for the extra hour of sleep with our day light savings time.

Recently Nattalicious was invited to attend a few natural hair events where awesome women gave back in the form of Natural Hair Products. They also rejoiced in their natural, took refresher course in natural hair care, natural hair styling, natural hair fashion, make up essentials, natural body care, and more!

Prior to the event, organizers arranged for attendees to bring new and  gently used natural hair products to donate to our organization Nattalicious. Donations from both meets ups were OUTSTANDING! We received everything from hair/scalp treatments, body butters, combs/brushes, and shampoo/conditions.

As a first time, non-profit organizer, it is very rewarding to see other people give back of their time, resources, power, and influences, to be a blessing to others.


I often like to quote 1 Corinthians 11:15, "A woman's hair is her glory"  To have glory in her hair means that she take great pride or pleasure in her hair. If she is happy about her hair, chances are she feels happy about her outer appearance, she performs at a higher level, and she highly esteems her accomplishments of achieving a great look.

Offering a service such as providing natural hair care products to women such as the working mom who can not afford natural hair care, that woman in  recovery from cancer and other sickness or diseases, or the abused/battered woman who left in the middle of the night with absolutely nothing, is all made possible thanks to natural hair women and companies who donated. 

This blog entry is Nattalicious way of giving thanks to the dedicated organizers of these great events, the attendees who donated or made it possible to collect more donations, or the ones who simply shared words of encouragement and well wishes. 

Later in the Month of November, Nattalicious will be donating Natural hair products to women who are victims of domestic violence.
